Haas Automation Next Generation Control (NGC) alarm 102: SERVOS TURNED OFF
Alarm 102 SERVOS TURNED OFF on a Haas NGC means the servo motors are off. Haas lists three causes: power-on, an emergency stop, or another alarm; once the cause is cleared, RESET turns the servos back on.

When it happens
- Power-up (normal)
- After an emergency stop
- After any alarm that removes servo power
Likely causes and checks
1Normal power-on state
- Points to it
- Seen right after power-up with no other alarm.
- Check
- Press RESET (and POWER UP as the machine requires) to turn the servos on.
2Emergency stop pressed
- Points to it
- Alarm 107 EMERGENCY STOP is also listed.
- Check
- Release all emergency stop buttons and press RESET.
3Another alarm removed servo power
- Points to it
- Another alarm (for example 103, 108, 160, 161) appears with or just before 102.
- Check
- Open ALARM HISTORY, find the first alarm in the sequence and follow its instructions before resetting.
Telling it apart
- 102 is a state, not a root cause: the alarm logged just before it says why the servos went off.
- If 102 returns as soon as RESET is pressed, the underlying alarm is still active; alarm 2001 EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH ERROR means the primary E-stop circuit itself has failed.
Evidence to collect
- ALARM HISTORY showing what came before 102
- Whether any emergency stop is pressed
- Whether 102 returns after RESET
Work on fuel trains, burners, pressure vessels and electrical equipment must be done by qualified personnel following the manufacturer’s documentation and local codes. Never bypass a safety device or interlock.
