The short answer
With off-the-shelf sensors you pay for the hardware once (typically US$60–150 per machine plus about US$100 for a gateway) and InduQT per machine: free for up to 3 machines, then US$49 a month for 3 plus US$12 for each extra. For 10 machines that is about US$2,600 in the first year. Vendor-sensor systems bundle hardware, software and support into one price: Guidewheel publishes a starting price of US$25,000 a year, and Tractian quotes per asset. Put your own quote into the calculator.
Formula
InduQT a month = 0 for up to 3 machines, else 49 + 12 × (machines − 3)Year 1 = machines × sensors per machine + gateway + 12 × InduQT a month3 years = machines × sensors per machine + gateway + 36 × InduQT a monthVendor year 1 = quote per year + hardware; 3 years = 3 × quote + hardware
How to use it
- Enter the number of machines.
- Enter what the sensors cost per machine (the sensor guides list typical prices).
- Enter your vendor’s quote per year and any separate hardware or installation charge.
Assumptions
- InduQT prices are the published Basic and Fleet Starter list prices in US dollars, without tax. Live MQTT/OPC UA connectors are on Plant Monitor (US$399 a month per site); the bridge in our guides works on every plan.
- Your own time to fit sensors is not counted; free setup is available with a 12-month plan.
- Vendor systems include things this does not (managed hardware, certified sensors, CMMS), so compare what you need, not only the price.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the vendor default US$25,000?
It is the starting price Guidewheel publishes on its pricing page (read 31 October 2026). Replace it with the quote you have.
What does Tractian cost?
Tractian does not publish prices; it quotes per asset. Ask for a quote and enter it here.
